Engaging with the research community through symposiums and presentation events has allowed me to present my work, exchange ideas, and grow as a researcher and communicator. Below are some of the events where I have actively participated and shared my geospatial research journey.
Three Minute Thesis Competition
Hosted by: NC State University β College of Natural Resources
Date: 2026
I stepped out of my comfort zone and presented in the Three Minute Thesis competition organized by the NC State College of Natural Resources. Fitting three years of research into just three minutes was not easy, and the real challenge was learning how to communicate the core message of my work clearly to a general audience. The preparation itself was a journey of simplifying, practicing, and pushing myself beyond fear. Standing in front of the audience was scary, but doing it became my biggest achievement, and I am proud of myself for taking that step.
Graduate Research Symposium
Hosted by: North Carolina State University
Date: 2026
I had the opportunity to present my poster on the geomorphic impacts of Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina at the Graduate Research Symposium organized by North Carolina State University. I am very thankful to the NC State Center for Geospatial Analytics for nominating me for this opportunity. It was a meaningful experience to share my research, connect with fellow researchers, and learn from the diverse and inspiring work presented at the symposium. I am grateful for the conversations, feedback, and encouragement.
College of Natural Resources Graduate Research Symposium
